How To Take A Break

01/31/2018

My first post of 2018 feels so damn good! I couldn’t stay gone for too long, I missed you all and blogging so much. It’s true when they say to find something you love doing and you will never work a day again in your life. At this point, I can’t see myself doing anything else besides being an influencer. It’s amazing that blogging is a career path for so many of us.

I haven’t posted since December due to many personal reasons. Being a blogger may look glamorous and fun, but it requires a lot from you. When it comes to blogging you’re being many different roles like hair/make-up artist, stylist, creative director, photographer, model, editor, writer, social media coordinator, and the list goes on. The toughest part for me is having consistent looks to shoot in. Either your getting looks from brands or buying them yourself. Two things I’m working on is growing my pockets and creating a media kit to start reaching out to brands.

So I took a brief hiatus to figure out how to manage everything I need in order to be consistent. Consistency is what will set you apart in this industry, not just being different. The quote “Go the extra mile, it’s never crowded” is true af. Most people just stop when it gets too hard, but I can’t. Going a month without blogging downed my spirit and I felt like a quitter, uninspired, and not productive. When I’m proactive, I’m most happy because it provides me with direction.

I am here to tell you that there is nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself. Anyone who is an entrepreneur or human, in general, does not have it all together. If you need to log off social media, stop going out, take a few days off from work, stop spending unnecessary money then, by all means, do that for yourself. We all need a pause button sometimes to refocus our minds and find new inspiration. Take the time you need to become a better you.
