Yves Saint Laurent Paris Museum

“In 1962, Yves Saint Laurent (1936-2008), along with Pierre Berge (1930-2017), opened his own haute couture house at 30 bis rue Spontini in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. The thriving business later moved to this Napoleon III-style hotel particulier at 5 avenue Marceau on July 14, 1974. The haute couture house closed in October 2002 and became the foundation Pierre Berge – Yves Saint Laurent, which was recognized as a public utility later that year. Its primary mission is to promote Saint Laurent’s work. The desire to create a patrimony first arose in 1964 when Saint Laurent decided to set aside certain designs after each show.  From 2004 to 2016, the foundation held art exhibitions reflecting Berge and Saint Laurent’s electric taste.”
