Dear April,

Where does the time go? I will be 26 years old this month and I cannot believe I am 4 years away from 30! Not to mention my blog will be 3 years old in June. It’s safe to say time passes you by whether you realize it or not. I would love to tell you that I have figured blogging and my whole life out in general, but I’m actually just now getting started. When your figuring life out you often feel like your just roaming and sometimes for me I feel like what am I doing or that I’m producing meaningless work. Yes, I am my own worst critic, I’m sure you are to! I believe this is the whole point though, to keep creating until you figure out who you are.

I’ve recently been reading Rise and Grind by Daymond John and this book is so inspiring. The GRIND is the main topic of discussion. Are you really working as hard as you can to get to where you want to be? He speaks on forming healthy habits, writing out detailed goals, and balance. Specifically figuring out what is going to work for you because there is no one right way to accomplish your goals. In this book he interviews with people like Tyler The Creator and Nely Galan who are all successful individuals with totally different stories and backgrounds. All of these successful people have one thing in common, they rise and they GRIND.

As I read there amazing stories I tried to look back on my own life to remember what shaped me into pursing my dreams. My Grandmother is my biggest inspiration. After raising my little sister and I, she never stopped GRINDING. She worked everyday running her own business, taking caring of us, and still pursing her passion. I remember that I’ve always wanted to work for myself, so here I am tapping into things I’m good at. The point of this post is if your struggling with the grind to try and reminisce on what made you want to become an entrepreneur, artist, mother, nurse, or maybe you already knew growing up. Whatever the case may be when you know who you are and what you want everything becomes more clear.

xo, Myia
